The Euthanasia Coaster is a hypothetical metal roller coaster designed to kill passengers 3 , 4 . It was designed and mapped in 2010 by Julijonas Urbonas, a PhD student at the Royal College of Art in London . Urbonas, who worked in an amusement park, defined these roller coaster as “a hypothetical euthanasia machine … created to take life humanly in elegance and euphoria” 5 , 4 . However, it is more likely that this attraction would cause nausea and discomfort according to António Damásio 2 . Urbonas mentions euthanasia and the death penalty as practical applications of the Euthanasia Coaster 1 .
