Otto Carl Kiep ( 7 of July of 1886 - 23 of August of 1944 ) was the director of the press agency of the Third Reich ( Reichspresseamts ), member of the resistance and involved in the plot of July 20 of , 1944.
Otto Kiep was born in Ayrshire , Scotland , his parents were Johann Nikolaus Kiep and Charlotte Rottenburg. He grew up in Glasgow , moving to Germany in 1909. He studied law in Leipzig and London .
Otto Kiep worked at the German Embassy in Washington, DC from 1927 to 1931 and Consul General in New York until 1933. He established links with Hanna Solf and her group ( Circle of Solf ) and the Kreisau Circle .
His name appeared among the conspirators on July 20, was arrested and sentenced by Judge Roland Freisler .
Otto Kiep was hanged in the prison of Plötzensee-Berlin.
